Sam Stowe Campground within Fremont Indian State Park offers year-round camping near Clear Creek Canyon with two cabins, a modernized pithouse, and ten full-hookup RV sites alongside a large group tent area. The adjacent museum displays thousands of Fremont culture artifacts excavated during highway construction, with hiking trails accessing ancient rock art panels left by the Fremont people who farmed this area from roughly 400 to 1300 CE.
