Palisade State Park sits in Sanpete County near Sterling, offering diverse recreation around Palisade Reservoir created in the 1860s when settler Daniel B. Funk dammed Sixmile Creek as a summer resort destination. The desert canyon setting provides tent, RV, and cabin camping, along with boating (non-motorized and electric motor), fishing, swimming, and hiking. An 18-hole golf course sits on park grounds, and Six-Mile Canyon with off-highway vehicle trails extends recreation options beyond the reservoir.
