Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, Indian Creek Guard Station sits at 9,400 feet elevation in the Manti-La Sal National Forest, facing Ferron Reservoir amidst spruce, fir, and aspen trees. The cabin complex accommodates up to 10 people (four in bunks inside, four in outside tents) with a kitchen equipped with a wood stove, propane appliances, table, and chairs. Drinking water, an indoor flush toilet, and a shower operate from July to mid-September, with a vault toilet 50 feet away in winter. A front porch overlooks the water, near the 350-mile Arapeen ATV Trail System.
