Setting
Gooseberry Reservoir Campground sits at an elevation of 8,400 feet in an open mountain meadow along the shores of Gooseberry Reservoir. The treeless layout provides direct lake views from every campsite, though there is no shade. Facilities include standard RV sites with long parking spurs and vault toilets; there is no drinking water, garbage service, or boat ramp. The small reservoir is limited to hand-powered watercraft for canoeing and fishing for cutthroat and rainbow trout. The Great Western Trail runs adjacent to the campground for hiking, biking, and off-road vehicle riding.
Getting there: From Fairview, Utah, travel north about a mile on Highway 89, to the junction with Highway 31. Travel east on Highway 31 for about nine miles, to the junction with Forest Development Road 124. Go north on Forest Development Raod 124 for three miles, to the campground.
