Setting
Windwhistle Group Site is a walk-in, tent-only campsite set among red rock cliffs along the road to Needles Overlook. Located about 45 minutes from Moab and Monticello, this lower-campground site includes picnic tables, a fire ring with a grate, and access to a nearby vault toilet. Seasonal drinking water is typically available from May to September. There are no electric hookups, shade shelters, or dump stations. Parking is limited and cannot accommodate RVs, motorhomes, or trailers. Local trails and dirt roads lead to the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park.
Getting there: From Moab, drive 32 miles south on 191 to the junction with the Needles Overlook road. Turn right and travel 6 miles on this road. The campground is on the left hand side of the road.
