All 60.9 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Dirt the whole way in (60.9 miles). Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~190 ft on the downhill side. Winds through 29 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch. Cattle guards 5, 5.8, 20.8, 22.5, 25.6, 40.4 and 59.4 miles in.

A well-travelled stretch -- travellers have camped along here. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 0.1 miles off. Bears Ears stands 1,382 ft above the site, 2.5 miles northeast. A river runs 0.6 mi off. The nearest town, Blanding, is 21 mi off.
