Dogwood Day Use Picnic Area sits along Big Cottonwood Creek in Big Cottonwood Canyon, shaded by pines, aspens, dogwoods, and scrub oaks. Facilities include paved parking spurs and paths, group picnic sites with tables, fire rings, grills, flush toilets, and non-potable water. The adjacent creek is stocked with trout for fly-fishing. Trailheads for hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing routes are nearby in the canyon, and Solitude Mountain Resort is 11.5 miles up-canyon.

Getting there: Take exit 301 off I-15. Turn east and travel 6 miles on 7200 South to the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Travel 1.1 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon to picnic area.
