Ponderosa Campground sits at 6,200 feet along Salt Creek in Bear Canyon, 10 miles from Nephi, Utah, off the Nebo Loop Scenic Byway. Established in 1933 within a grove of tall ponderosa pines planted in 1914, the grounds are shaded by aspens and maples. Salt Creek runs beside the sites for trout fishing, and the nearby Bear Canyon Trail connects into the adjacent Mount Nebo Wilderness Area.
