All 32.1 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Mostly gravel, with 4.5 miles of dirt. Level ground alongside most of its length. Winds through 16 switchbacks. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch. Water crossings 12.6, 13.6, 13.7, 14.1, 14.3, 17 and 17.1 miles in. A cattle guard 19 miles in.

Secluded here -- no through road within 3.7 miles. East Fork Virgin River runs 0.1 mi off. A well-travelled stretch -- travellers have camped along here. Night skies measure Bortle 4 -- a rural sky with a glow on the horizon. Dianas Throne stands 1,538 ft above the site, 3.7 miles southeast. The nearest town, Kanab, is 16 mi off.
