Setting
Panguitch Lake Campground sits at 8,400 feet on the Colorado Plateau, set on a ponderosa pine hillside a quarter-mile above Panguitch Lake. Split by the highway, the larger north side accommodates single, double, and group sites, while the south side is dedicated exclusively to tent camping. Amenities include flush toilets, drinking water, a dump station, a horseshoe pit, a volleyball court, and an amphitheater. Lake access points with two public boat ramps are five minutes away for trout fishing and canoeing, while the 300-mile Markagunt OHV trail system sits nearby.
Getting there: From Panguitch, Utah, take Highway 143 southwest 14 miles. Campground is on the north side of the highway.
