Lower Bowns Campground sits at 7,000 feet on the eastern shore of Lower Bowns Reservoir, backed by Boulder Mountain to the west and views of the Waterpocket Fold to the east. The terrain is sparsely covered in pinyon pine and juniper. The facility consists of gravel roads leading to three accessible sites: a group site for up to 50 people and two single sites for up to 10 people each. Vault toilets are provided on site. The adjacent reservoir offers boating, canoeing, and fishing for rainbow, brook, and cutthroat trout.

Road difficulty 3 of 5 -- a rough drive in. Recorded as maintained only for high-clearance vehicles, dirt, pitching to 4%. Sits on broad, near-level ground.
