All 1.5 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Level ground alongside most of its length. Dead-end road -- no mapped turnaround; expect to back out or unhitch. A gate at the start of the road.
A well-travelled stretch -- travellers have camped along here. A reservoir lies 1.0 mi off. Night skies measure Bortle 2 -- true dark-sky territory. The nearest town, Panguitch, is 19 mi off.
