Chute Group Campground sits at an elevation of 8,000 feet along Huntington Creek in Huntington Canyon, shaded by large spruce trees and lined with grassy meadows and willows. The facility consists of a single large group campsite that accommodates up to 50 people, featuring a dirt parking area and grassy spots for tents. An accessible vault toilet is on-site, but campers must bring their own water and pack out garbage. Huntington Creek is a Blue Ribbon trout fishery, and nearby paths include the Left Fork of the Huntington National Recreation Trail and the Fish Creek Trail.
The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Flat ground is scarce -- under a tenth of the terrain within a few hundred yards is level.
Candland Mountain stands 2,125 ft above the site, 2.0 miles northwest. Most of them shaded. The nearest town, Fairview, is 15 mi off.
