Setting
Upper Stillwater Campground sits at 8,000 feet in the Rock Creek Drainage below Upper Stillwater Dam on the southern slope of the Uinta Mountains. The site offers single, double, and 32-person group sites set under sparse ponderosa pine, lodgepole, and aspen cover. Amenities include picnic tables, campfire rings, grills, flush toilets, drinking water, and trash collection. Visitors come to fish for rainbow and brook trout in Rock Creek and hike the Rock Creek Trail into the High Uintas Wilderness.
Getting there: From Duchesne, Utah: Take Highway 87 approximately 20 miles north to Mountain Home. Turn left at the Rock Creek Store and travel 18 miles to the campground.
