Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation centers on Starvation Reservoir in high-desert Duchesne County at 5,700 feet elevation, fed by the Strawberry River. The 3,495-acre reservoir is especially renowned for trophy walleye, smallmouth bass, and trout fishing. Six campgrounds range from primitive to developed, with a 54-unit RV facility, rental cabins, boat ramps, docks, sand beach, and fish cleaning stations. Beyond fishing, the park offers 3D archery, disc golf, slack-line park, and geocaching, with off-highway vehicle trails nearby.
