Setting
Moon Lake Campground sits on the shore of Moon Lake at an elevation of 8,100 feet among lodgepole pine, aspen, and Douglas fir. Sites include picnic tables and campfire rings with grills along paved spur roads. Amenities include flush toilets, drinking water, and lake views, with some sites offering direct water access. The lake supports motor-boating, canoeing, and trout fishing. Nearby trailheads access the Lake Fork, Brown Duck Mountain Loop, and Fish Creek National Recreation trails. The adjacent Moon Lake Resort supplies groceries, bait, and boat rentals.
Getting there: From Duchesne, Utah, take State Hwy 87 north to Mountain Home, then north 12 miles to the Forest Boundary and Forest Road 131. The campground is about 36 miles from Duchesne on paved roads although some spots have pot-holes.
