Avintaquin Campground sits amongst Douglas fir trees at an elevation of 9,000 feet atop Indian Canyon, off Highway 191 between Duchesne and Helper. Wildlife in the forest includes mule deer and elk, with nearby springs and Avintaquin Creek in the vicinity. The layout includes several single-family sites and one group site accommodating up to 50 people with parking for 10 vehicles. Campsites have picnic tables, campfire rings, and utility tables. Vault toilets are available on-site, but campers must bring their own water. The Reservation Ridge Scenic Backway directly accesses the campground.
