Setting
Pioneer Campground is set along the Blacksmith Fork River at an elevation of 5,600 feet, nine miles from Hyrum. Surrounded by steep hills, the grounds feature 17 single campsites shaded by black willow and box elder trees, equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. Visitors come to fish the river, spot local wildlife, or travel Forest Road 245 to connect with multi-use trails like the Great Western Trail.
Getting there: In Hyrum, UT, at the intersection of State Rts.165 and 101, take Rt.101 east 8 miles to the campground sign. Turn right at the sign into the campground.
