Russell Park sits on the west side of Georgetown Lake in Texas Hill Country, roughly 25 miles north of Austin. The park offers 27 primitive campsites with nearby drinking water and flush toilets, including 10 sites with screened shelters housing basic bunk frames. On-site facilities feature fishing docks, a boat ramp, a seasonal swim beach, and a day-use area. The 26-mile San Gabriel River Trail passes through the park, providing hiking and biking routes around the reservoir through juniper forests and bottomland hardwoods.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad.

Knight Spring lies 0.2 mi off. Exposed here -- the nearest through road is 1.9 miles off, a 30-site campground. Night skies measure Bortle 5 -- a rural sky with a glow on the horizon. Open country -- nothing named rises within 30 miles of here. Most of them shaded. The nearest town, Georgetown, is 3.8 mi off.

September normals 6790°F, 3.5″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
