Jim Hogg Park is located on the north shore of Lake Georgetown in the Texas Hill Country, roughly 25 miles north of Austin. The facility provides 142 reservable campsites, five large group camping shelters, flush toilets, showers, and picnic shelters. Water access is available via an on-site boat ramp for fishing bass and catfish. The 26-mile San Gabriel River Trail wraps around the reservoir through dense juniper forests, hardwood bottomlands, and prairie, offering route access to both hikers and mountain bikers.

The road in has not been measured -- unknown, not bad. Sits on broad, near-level ground.

Crowded here -- the nearest through road is 0.9 miles off, a 148-site campground. A body of water lies 0.1 mi off. Night skies measure Bortle 5 -- a rural sky with a glow on the horizon. Open country -- nothing named rises within 30 miles of here. Most sites here have an electric hookup -- most of them shaded. The nearest town, Serenada, is 3.0 mi off.

September normals 6790°F, 3.5″ rain. Monthly averages, PRISM 1991–2020.
