Setting
Yegua Creek Campground is set on the shoreline of Somerville Lake. The park features 82 campsites reserved exclusively for registered campers, 65 of which provide water and 50-amp electric hookups. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, picnic tables, fire rings, a dump station, two boat ramps, and an on-site interpretive nature trail. Water activities on the lake include boating and fishing for bass, crappie, and catfish, while the city of Somerville sits less than 10 miles away.
Getting there: From Austin, Texas, take US 290 east to Brenham. Follow HWY 36 north 11.5 miles to FM 1948. Turn left and follow FM 1948 2.5 miles. Turn right into park complex, following campground signs. From Houston, Texas, take HWY 290 west to Brenham. Follow HWY 36 north 11.5 miles to FM 1948. Turn left and follow FM 1948 2.5 miles. Turn right into park complex, following campground signs.
