Cagle Recreation Area sits among the pines and hardwoods of Sam Houston National Forest along the shore of the 22,000-acre Lake Conroe. Located an hour north of Houston, the site is a draw for black bass fishing, shoreline wading, and boating, featuring a boat ramp with a large parking lot. Campsites are arranged in two loops, offering full-service hookups and lake views alongside restrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. Onsite amenities include a lakeside picnic area, a two-mile trail for hiking and mountain biking, and nearby access to the 128-mile Lone Star Hiking Trail.
