Setting
Bear Creek Campground sits on the south side of Benbrook Lake along wooded hillsides and prairie terrain in north-central Texas. The facility accommodates both individual campers and groups, offering campsites with utility hookups alongside a large group camping pavilion. On-site amenities include restrooms with showers, a trailer dump station, and direct boat ramp access. Wildlife such as deer, hawks, and roadrunners inhabit the surrounding shorelines. The park is located a short drive from Fort Worth's Cultural District and Stockyards National Historic District.
Getting there: From Interstate 20 or 820 in southwest Fort Worth, take exit 429A for Highway 377 toward Granbury and go south 5.7 miles (9.2 km); turn left or southeast onto FM Road 1187 and continue for 1.4 miles (2.2 km), then turn left or east onto Ben Day-Murrin Road and continue another 1.6 miles (2.7 km) to the campground entrance.
