Boles Field is situated in a pine and hardwood forest within Sabine National Forest, centered around a historic fox hound cemetery. The campground features 20 first-come, first-served campsites equipped with water and electric hookups; horses are permitted. On-site facilities include a day-use group shelter and a 100-person amphitheater. Located six miles from the Toledo Bend Reservoir, the area is used for bird watching during spring migration and freshwater fishing.
Getting there: From Shelbyville, Texas, take Highway 87 south. Turn left on Texas FM 417 and proceed east for a mile, then take a right at the fork onto Texas FM 2694 and continue 5.5 miles to the campground.
