Martin Creek Lake State Park encompasses 286 acres on the shores of a 5,000-acre lake in Rusk County, southeast of Longview. The park was established in 1976 when Texas Utilities deeded the land to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The Bee Tree camping loop features premium lakefront sites with 30-amp and 50-amp electrical hookups alongside water access, with picnic tables, lantern posts, and nearby shower facilities. Additional amenities include screened shelters for overnight stays, a recreation hall, and boat access for fishing and swimming. Primitive island tent sites, accessible by wooden bridge, offer a backcountry option. The area's natural history spans 13,000 years, including settlement by the Caddo people and later European colonization.
