A primitive walk-in site in Big Bend Ranch's remote Leyva Backcountry Zone, situated in a desert draw at the base of a mesa and surrounded by dramatic volcanic boulder formations. The site features tent pads and a spring-fed water tank for campers and animal access. Nestled within the park's 311,000-acre Chihuahuan Desert wilderness, the area encompasses canyons, high plateaus rising toward Fresno Peak, and rock formations shaped by millions of years of geological activity including ancient seas, tectonic plate shifts, and volcanic processes. Wildlife includes mule deer, bighorn sheep, and golden eagles.
