A primitive camping area within Big Bend Ranch State Park, Texas's largest state park spanning 311,000 acres of remote high desert along the Rio Grande. Primitive drive-in sites with picnic tables and fire rings sit amid rugged mountains, canyons, and 238 miles of trails through Chihuahuan Desert landscape. Elevations range from 2,350 to over 5,000 feet with sparse vegetation including lechuguilla and ocotillo. Access to interior requires traversing 27 miles of unmaintained dirt road. The park is an International Dark Sky Park and offers hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and paddling along the Rio Grande. Temperatures often exceed 100°F by late morning.
