Briar Loop offers 16 tent-only campsites with picnic tables and water in a 635-acre park along Lake Livingston in the Piney Woods region an hour north of Houston. The park encompasses an 84,800-acre reservoir with 3 boat ramps, fish-cleaning stations, a pier, and swimming areas. Restrooms with showers serve the loop. The park provides over 10 miles of hiking trails, boating, white bass fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Big Thicket National Preserve and Sam Houston National Forest lie nearby.
