Lake Mineral Wells State Park, located in cattle country 45 minutes west of Fort Worth, centers on a scenic 640-acre lake set in Cross Timbers terrain with elevations ranging from 718 to 1,235 feet. The park offers diverse camping options including electric hookup sites, water-only sites, screened shelters with amenities, and primitive hike-in sites. The lake supports fishing for catfish, crappie, sunfish, and largemouth bass from six piers, with a swim beach and boat and canoe rentals. Twelve miles of trails range from easy to challenging, and the park sits near the historic Mineral Wells health resort area.
