Possum Kingdom State Park overlooks Possum Kingdom Lake, a 20,000-acre reservoir known for clear blue waters and 300 miles of shoreline spanning 65 miles along the Brazos River. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps and opened in 1950, the park offers water and electricity sites, water-only sites, and primitive walk-in camping across 1,530 acres. On-site amenities include a marina, swimming beach, and picnic areas in the scenic Palo Pinto Mountains landscape.
