Lake Colorado City, a 1,618-acre impoundment of Morgan Creek at 2,067 feet elevation in West Texas between Midland and Abilene, centers this state park offering largemouth bass, channel catfish, and sunfish fishing. Multiple camping loops distribute across the park with restrooms and showers in each area. Facilities include a boat ramp, fishing pier, kayak rentals with paddles and life vests provided, tackle equipment loans, and picnic areas. Eleven cabins with shower facilities provide alternative lodging.
