Setting
Malaquite Campground sits nestled between coastal sand dunes with direct access to the ocean beach. It features paved and gravel campsites for tents and RVs, equipped with picnic tables, restrooms, and cold water showers, with select sites offering shade structures and grills. Camping is first-come, first-served. Campers can pitch a tent at their assigned site or directly on the beach in front of the grounds. While campsites lack utility hookups, a potable water spigot and an RV dump station are situated along the entrance road.
Getting there: From the park entrance station, travel south along Park Road 22 for 3.2 miles (5.1 km). Turn left into the campground at the respective road sign. Malaquite Campground is approximately 0.5 miles (0.8 km) north of the Malaquite Visitor Center. Note that from the visitor center to the campground there is no road sign but it is the first right turn.
