Primitive beach camping and horse camping on West Beach with minimal facilities. Gambusia Nature Trail Boardwalk winds through marshlands. Paddling trails range 1.79 to 9.59 miles through coastal waterways. Boat ramp and fishing access available. Nearby McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge and J.D. Murphree Wildlife Management Area offer additional birding and wildlife viewing. Sabine Pass Battleground State Historic Site nearby.
