Fort Richardson State Park spans 450 acres at 1,100 feet elevation in north-central Texas, built around a restored 1860s military fort with seven original buildings and interpretive center. Camping options include full-hookup and electric-only sites in the main West and East loops, overflow tent camping on grass, a scout group facility, and waterfront North Park campsites 3 miles away near Lost Creek Reservoir with beach and kayak launch. On-site features Quarry Lake and Lake Jacksboro for fishing, 12 miles of multi-use trails including the 9-mile Lost Creek Reservoir Trailway for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. Ranger-led and self-guided historic tours operate Saturday–Sunday 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
