Set 50 miles east of Dallas in oak forest, Lake Tawakoni State Park occupies 376 acres along a 37,879-acre reservoir with five miles of lakeshore. The primitive group campsite accommodates up to 48 people. The park features a four-lane boat ramp, fish cleaning station, and kayak rental kiosk. Nearly five miles of trails support hiking and mountain biking. Individual campsites offer full hookups or water/electric combinations, with ADA-accessible options. The lake supports boating, fishing, and swimming.
