Lofers Bend East Campground sits along the shore of Whitney Lake on the Brazos River, surrounded by cedar and oak trees. The park features 66 individual campsites and one group site. Six sites are water-only, while the remainder provide water and 30-amp electrical hookups. Every site includes a fire ring or stand-up grill. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, a trailer dump station, a playground, and two boat ramps used for launching kayaks, canoes, and powerboats.

Getting there: From I-35 in Hillsboro, take Highway 22 west 12 miles to Whitney. Continue 7 miles past Whitney, turn right before dam. Follow park road to 4-way stop. Turn left to go to West Lofers or right to go to East Lofers.
