Lake Whitney State Park spans 775 acres along a 23,500-acre reservoir in north-central Texas prairie, with rolling terrain dotted by oak mottes and wildflowers. Campsites with water, electric, and full hookups ring the park, along with screened shelters; a boat ramp and fish-cleaning shelter serve the lake's abundant largemouth, striped, and white bass, plus blue catfish. Trails wind through the property for hiking and biking. Located 3 miles from Whitney, within easy reach of Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waco.
