The park centers on Mission Espíritu Santo, a Spanish colonial mission restored by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. The San Antonio River runs through the steep-banked landscape, offering fishing and paddling; the Goliad Paddling Trail ends here. Multiple camping areas range from full-hookup sites to walk-in tent camping near the river. Angel of Goliad Trail provides hiking through the oak-forest setting. The park preserves Native American, Spanish, and Texian heritage with nearby Mission Rosario ruins and historic El Camino Real.
