Rio Grande Village in TX -- Campground & RV Camping in Texas

Rio Grande Village Campground sits along the Rio Grande under a canopy of cottonwood trees, directly across from Mexico's Sierra del Carmen Mountains in Big Bend National Park. The facility features 100 campsites ranging from tent sites to 40-foot pull-throughs, equipped with picnic tables, charcoal grills, and bear-proof food lockers, along with flush toilets, utility sinks, and a dump station. A river put-in allows easy access for kayaks and canoes, while birdwatching along the bank is popular. Boquillas Canyon, the Hot Springs Historic District, and Daniels Ranch sit nearby.

Getting there: From Interstate 10, take State Highway 385 south to Fort Stockton and into Marathon. From Marathon, drive 40 miles (62 km) (south on State Highway 385 to the north entrance of Big Bend National Park. Drive straight for 26 miles (42 km) to Park Headquarters at Panther Junction. Turn left and proceed for 20 miles (32 km) to the Rio Grande Village area. Turn left at the stop sign and follow signs into the campground.
