Plowman Creek Campground sits among rolling hills of cedar and oak along the Brazos River on the west side of Whitney Lake. The year-round facility offers 44 campsites featuring covered picnic tables, upright grills, and fire rings; 30 sites include water and 30-amp electric hookups, while 12 offer water only. On-site amenities include two shower buildings with flush toilets, drinking water, a dump station, a boat ramp, and a playground. Campers can access the 12.5-mile Hopewell Trail for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding along the river corridor.
Getting there: From Kopperl, Texas, travel 1 mile south on FM 56. Follow signs into campground.
