Setting
Temples Lake Park is a day-use facility on the southern shore of Belton Lake along the Leon River. The park features 62 covered picnic sites with grills, a reservable group pavilion, flush and vault restrooms, outdoor showers, drinking water, two multi-lane boat ramps, a courtesy dock, a seasonal swim beach, a playground, and volleyball and basketball courts. Visitors come to launch boats, swim, and fish for striped bass, largemouth bass, and catfish. Nearby points of interest include the Fort Hood military base and historical artwork on the Belton Dam spillway.
Getting there: From Interstate 35 in Temple, Texas take the Farm-to-Market Road 2305/Adams exit. Travel west on 2305 to the park.
