Thunder Rock Campground sits along the Ocoee River in the Cherokee National Forest, just behind TVA Powerhouse No. 3. It offers 37 standard sites for pop-ups and RVs under 20 feet (non-electric, except site 9 which has 30-amp power) and one group site. Each campsite has a table, grill, lantern post, and access to drinking water hydrants and bathhouses with flush toilets and warm showers. The site acts as a trailhead for the 30-mile Tanasi trail system, the Benton-MacKaye Trail, and sits 1.8 miles from the Ocoee Whitewater Center's river put-in.
