Setting
Salt Lick Creek Campground sits along Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, 10 miles from Gainesboro. The facility features 150 family campsites and one group shelter, all equipped with electric hookups, plus flush toilets, hot showers, laundry facilities, drinking water, a dump station, a playground, a visitor center, and a boat ramp. The surrounding terrain consists of wooded rolling hills with oak, hickory, and beech trees. Visitors access the 12,000-acre lake for boating, water skiing, and fishing, or hike local paths like the nearby 6-mile Bearwaller Gap Trail.
Getting there: From Carthage, go 4 miles west on SR-25, then north on SR-80, then east on SR-85 to Gladice. Turn right on Smith Bend Road and follow signs.
