Setting
Roaring River Park is a wooded day-use area on Cordell Hull Lake along the Cumberland River system near Gainesboro. Set among rolling hills of oak, hickory, maple, and beech trees, the park features a large group shelter, flush toilets, drinking water, a playground, and a boat ramp. Visitors use the site to access the 12,000-acre lake for boating, sailing, water skiing, swimming, and fishing for white bass, rockfish, largemouth bass, and catfish. Wildlife like whitetail deer, wild turkey, and waterfowl frequent the area, and historic Granville sits 20 minutes away.
Getting there: From I-40, take HWY 53 north through Gainesboro, TN. Turn east on HWY 135 and follow signs into recreation area.
