Setting
Anderson Road Campground sits in a wooded glade along the shores of J. Percy Priest Lake, roughly ten miles east of downtown Nashville. The campground features 37 shady campsites alongside drinking water, a dump station, a shower house, and a boat ramp. Campers also get access to an adjacent day-use area offering a swimming beach, picnic tables, grills, a shelter, and a playground. On-site paths include the Anderson Road Fitness Trail, a paved mile-long route through the cedar glades, while the 14,200-acre lake draws visitors for boating and fishing for bass and crappie.
Getting there: From downtown Nashville, TN, take I-40 east for 5 miles to exit 219. Turn right on Stewarts Ferry Pike and continue straight on Bell Road for 5 miles. Turn left on Smith Springs Road, then left on Anderson Road. The campground is ahead about 1 mile on the left or continue straight on Anderson Road to access the day use area and shelter.
