Setting
Pleasant Grove Recreation Area is a day-use facility set on a forested peninsula overlooking Dale Hollow Lake and Dam on the Obey River. The site features a large group picnic shelter equipped with five tables and grills, as well as flush toilets and drinking water. A public boat ramp provides direct access to the lake's 27,700 surface acres for powerboating, waterskiing, and fishing for smallmouth bass, while downstream river waters yield rainbow and brown trout. The adjacent Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery is open daily to visitors.
Getting there: From Celina, Tennessee, turn northeast on Route 53 and continue for 4 miles. Turn right on Old Route 53 at the Cedar Hill/Pleasant Grove exit and follow signs to the park. It is recommended that visitors do not rely on GPS or Mapquest to reach the park.
