Setting
Right Bank Recreation Area stretches for two miles along the tree-lined Cumberland River at Cheatham Dam, 11 miles from Ashland City. The site functions as a day-use park with camping at the adjacent Lock A Campground. Facilities include four reservable group shelters (Cottonwood, Beachside, Willey's, and Red Bud), individual picnic tables with grills, three public restrooms, two boat ramps, a sand swimming beach, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, and a softball field. Sycamore Creek shelter sits just down the road, and Nashville is a 30-minute drive away.
Getting there: Right Bank Recreation Area is located approximately 11 miles northwest of Ashland City, Tenn. To reach the area, take Cheatham Dam Road off State Route 12 in the Cheap Hill Community. Right Bank Recreation Area is on the right bank of the lake, just upstream from Cheatham Lock and Dam.
