Setting
Lock A Campground sits on the north bank of the Cumberland River just upstream from Cheatham Lock and Dam. The park offers tent and RV sites equipped with 50-amp electric hookups, supported by hot showers, a dump station, a boat launch, a picnic shelter, horseshoe pits, and a volleyball court. A designated swimming area sits on-site, with an additional beach next door at Cheatham Dam Right Bank. Hikers can access the 6.5-mile Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail, which crosses Sycamore Creek via an abandoned railroad trestle.
Getting there: From Ashland City, Tennessee, take US 12 and go eight miles west to Cheap Hill. Turn left on Cheatham Dam Road traveling west four miles. Turn left into the campground.
