Custer Trail Campground sits on the north side of Deerfield Lake, 23 miles west of Hill City on Highway 17 in the Black Hills National Forest. Multiple tent sites and RV/popup sites available on first-come, first-served basis. Vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire grills; no potable water available (2026). Peak season rates $19/night (mid-May–September); free off-season. Boat launch provides lake access. Operates seasonally with limited winter services.
