A 3.0-mile stretch of dirt National Forest road in Lawrence County, SD. The road is open seasonally, May 15 to December 15.

Black Hills National Forest, Northern Hills Ranger District allows dispersed camping here -- 14-day limit in any 28 days.

All 3 miles in are maintained only for high-clearance vehicles. Dirt the whole way in (3 miles). Climbs 1,100 ft over 3 miles -- sustained grades near 18%, with pitches to 21%. Stretches run along a shelf with a drop of up to ~110 ft on the downhill side. A water crossing at the start of the road.

Green Mountain stands 1,162 ft above the site, 1.9 miles west. Night skies measure Bortle 3 -- a dark rural sky. The nearest town, Deadwood, is 2.9 mi off.
